Short days, comfortable teahouses and real Himalayan views: our favourite treks for a first trip, for families and for anyone short on time.
Most days are four to six hours at an easy pace, with time to rest in the afternoon.
These routes stay lower than the base camp treks, so altitude is much less of a concern.
Warm lodges with hot meals every night: no camping and no heavy pack.

A typical day
Breakfast at the teahouse, then three to four hours on the trail with stops for tea and photos. Lunch in a village, a shorter walk to the next lodge, and the evening by the stove with the mountains turning pink outside.

Shorter routes that stay lower, with the big mountains right in front of you.
A short, spectacular ridge trek from Pokhara to the base of Mardi Himal, right under the sharp summit of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail). In five days you climb through moss-covered rhododendron forest above the clouds onto open grassy ridges, with Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and Fishtail filling the sky. Small lodges and quiet trails make it one of the best short treks in Nepal.
